If you think it’s your job to make someone else happy, that’s a huge burden that will never be fulfilled. It can be a drastic downward spiral because we’ll miss our own happiness in the process. If we strive to make that our goal, we will lose our own joy. Or our happiness will revolve solely around their own! Invite the ownership back to you – it's all about ownership and responsibility for our own experiences.
“True satisfaction really takes work on my part to be really present and to know what it is I want instead of what others want from me.”
Inner focus allows us to move into those other experiences of joy and happiness. If I can be feeling good about who I am and what I’m doing in the moment, that’s where I can find happiness. Be in the moment! Not attached to the past or future, but the present. It’s not a result of external circumstance, its truly from living in the moment. There is no path to happiness, happiness is the path.
